Gugel hates me!
The Story:
My day started well. i did my morning ritual, turned on my computer and checked my emails and some blogs. I am currently optimizing 2 keywords within the past week. It is 2008 Beijing Olympics Rankings and Cebu Seo Contest.
For the past 2 days, i ranked number one for both keywords and i was very happy with the results (who wouldnt?, 2 days and your post got ranked already.) I tried enhancing on -page and off -age optimization of this blog to maintain such ranking and hoping that it wont be shaken. After turning off my pc, with a smile on my face, i went out for dinner. I was out for about more or less 5 hours and got home before midnight. I checked my rankings again and guess what, Im number 6 with the keyword “Cebu Seo Contest” and nowhere to be found on gugel with the keyword “2008 Beijing Olympics Rankings.” I was smirking, laughing and saddened all at the same time. This made me buzzed and told my friend about what had happened.
His Theory:
He pointed out that because of the heaviness of the said event (2008 Beijing Olympics), gugel went hard on new domains. Unlike aged-domains, or blogs that have been posting entries related to the 2008 Beijing Olympics for quite sometime, Newly-developed domains or blog posts that are a week old can be detected as SPAM. So a 2-day old posts regarding 2008 Beijing Olympics would highly be suspected as a spam blog.
Consequences:
My site could be de-indexed from the SERP or search engine result pages. Luckily only the Beijing-event-posts were the only ones de-indexed by gugel. Other keywords are still up and waiting to be optimized. Worst case scenario, as per my friend’s point of view, is that my entire site could be removed from the serps. Yikes. Now that would definitely hurt.
I Was Right!
At first, i was hesitant to blog and optimize keywords regarding the said event. I was lucky to still be on the serp with my other keywords. Maybe right now, i shall try to do divert my attention to other keywords on my list, and to my ongoing Cebu Seo Contest. It is a long way till deadline, and i hope i could stay on top and not be shaken. To all participants, Goodluck!
