#5  Kawasan Falls

Everyone loves falls.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be close with nature and appreciate the beauty of mother nature?  It is the refreshingly cool, crystal clear water that probably makes the Kawasan Falls the best falls in Cebu.  It is considered the highlight of Matutinao, located in Kawasan, a municipality of Badian.  It is considered to be a good starting point for mountain trek.  Kawasan Falls has an admission of measley ten pesos (.20 u.s. cents) and can rent tables for fifty pesos ( $1).  Visitors can also hire large bamboo rafts  and have priveleges to the pool area for three hundred pesos (less than $6).

#4  Orchid Gallery

Tired of seeing busy streets and crowded places? If you need a change of view from the urban life, then the Orchid Gallery is best for you. Located in Paramayon, Moalbal Cebu, the orchid farm can soothe your eyes with its beautiful aerial plants.  It also has swimming pools which gives the visitor to just dip in and enjoy the rest of the stay. Admission and Swimming pool priveleges are at ten pesos (.20 u.s. cents) and thirty pesos (.60 u.s. cents) respectively.

#3  Bantayan Island/ Beaches

Bantayan Island is located in the north-west cebu province, politically it is a part of the province of Cebu.  Some of the great beaches in the Philippines are located at the Bantayan Island.  It is usually a favorite getaway for couples to enjoy their weekend vacations.  The island can be reached thru ferry from Cebu City, Hagnaya Wharf in San Remigio or Cadiz City in Negros Occidental

#2  Magellan’s Cross

The famous Magellan’s Cross.  To give you a gist, Magellan led a voyage westward to find the spices island of Indonesia.  He was the “first” European to reach the archipelago now known as the Philippines.  The Magellan’s Cross is a christian cross established by the Portugese and Spanish explorers as ordered by By Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu.  It is situated in the capital of Cebu, built in April 21, 1521.  It is the spot where Rajah Humabon, Queen Juana and their followers were baptized.  It is indeed a historical place and worth to visit incase you happen to be in Cebu.

#1  Fort San Pedro

A Military defense structure built by the spaniards and cebuanos to repel muslim raiders back then.  Built on 1565, it was also served as a prison during the Philippine Revolution and a U.S Army baracks.  Today the fort has been turned into a park where visitors can have first hand information about Cebu History.
